Saul leiter

Thanks for our teacher Stuart introduce us an amazing photographer Saul leiter.
By his way, I am able to illustrate and image the emotions that people in big cities such as Paris and New York is so desolate but be related each other.
From his artist background, these pictures combined some post impression elements. For example, the way he successfully altered the light into his pictures just like the way impression artists consider the light is the most important role of all impression elements.

I like these two works: snow, c. 1960 and canopy.
From snow we can tell that although the man stand on the frigid street, through Saul’s trick, he seems to become an image relate to a warm and moist window. Especially some words written on the vapory window seems present the ideals in the man’s mind.

Canopy, is one of his early work.
Black and heavy canopy occupies two third of hole picture which contract to tiny people walking on the street. We can not help asking: what relationship between these people and the viewer?
